Selection system
Select a layer, group, or set of layers.
Basic selection
Click a layer on the canvas or in the tree. Click empty canvas to clear selection, or drag a marquee when no precision-editing mode is active. Use additive selection to collect layers and move or align them together.
Overlapping and nested layers
Use the tree to target children inside groups, frames, and components. Locks, visibility, and clipping affect canvas picking. Alt+click supports alpha pass-through when selecting overlapping image content.
Contextual actions
The inspector and Smart Actions depend on whether you selected a screen, layer, multiple layers, or repeat grid. Crop and slice-editing modes hide some general actions until you finish editing.
