Performance tips
Keep large documents manageable.
Hardware acceleration
SliceForge uses your graphics processor automatically. If the canvas warns that hardware acceleration is unavailable, enable graphics or hardware acceleration in your browser's system or performance settings, fully restart the browser, and reopen the project. On a computer with multiple GPUs, you can also assign the browser to the high-performance GPU in the operating system's graphics settings. Browser and organization policies may prevent this setting from being changed.
Rendering work
Hide content you do not need while editing and collapse unused tree branches for navigation. Large images, dense paths, and stacked effects increase rendering work. Simplify source artwork where practical.
Selective vectorization
Textured crops can create many paths. Keep them as raster artwork when vector editing adds little value, and compare a small sample before processing a whole screen.
Interruptions
If the canvas reports a rendering problem, follow its recovery controls and check save status. Preserve local work or export a backup before clearing browser data; cloud restoration depends on successful document and asset synchronization.
